KUCHING: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has expressed surprise that he would have to leave the state by May 2 and would not be allowed to re-enter until polling day on May 7.
Azmin, who is Selangor Menteri Besar, said he was officially informed by an Immigration Department officer upon his arrival at Kuching International Airport today (April 29).
“They even stamped on a note that I have to leave Sarawak by May 2 and would not allow me to come back until polling day.
“This is blatant disregard of the law,” he told reporters during his walkabout at Satok today.
Azmin hoped that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem would keep to his promise to bring reform to Sarawak and allow opposition leaders to enter the state during the election season.
“This is the time where all political leaders should be allowed to come in to express our concern and share our sentiment with Sarawakians,” he added.
