PKR apologises for missing out in Bukit Sari, Bukit Kota
KUCHING: PKR apologised to their supporters for the failure of their candidates to enter the fray in Bukit Sari and Bukit Kota.
“The Bukit Sari (PKR) candidate did not go to the nomination centre and no reason or explanation was given.
“We are extremely disappointed at the last minute change and will bring this matter to the attention of the disciplinary committee (of PKR).”
In Bukit Kota, the PKR candidate was disqualified due to bankruptcy as he was a guarantor of a loan.
As a result, in Bukit Kota, BN would be in direct fight with a PAS candidate.
"The party will review all relevant process to identify weaknesses in the current candidacy process” said PKR quoting Ismail Yussop who is the operations director for the state election.
As a result incumbents Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan won uncontested for the BN at Bukit Sari.
In the last state election, Awang Tengah beat Japar Suyut of PKR by a majority of 5,063 votes.
